First of all, what does the word civilization entails?
Civilization is explained as a diverse or broad process of acquiring cultures from one's own origin or outside one's origin .
This consist of norms and belief common to certain group of people within a particular location with the same cultural heritage.
It might be interesting that some belief and norms which are long ago abandon by any society due to modernization, probably if awaken may impact posively on fast rising and growing population of this days. For instance, the kids of this time does not regard their elders not to talk of greeting. But in those days, it wasn't so because parents are made to teach their wards all these at tender age.
Taking a glimpse at Modern civilization, some one could imagine if these days are far better or less better than those days as a result of modern tranformation era. By so doing, there are both negative and positive landmark as a result of these:
NEGATIVE IMPACT
1. In some parts of the society today, children feels being stressed when asked to carry out house core and therefore abandon them to their parents which are really uncalled for as an Adage says in Idoma language that " horse bears children in order to relief her of stress"
2. In those days, the female folks keep closeness with their in the where cooking is carried out which aid them on how to cook very well when they get to their husband's house but this days, the opposite has been the case.
3. The advent of modern technology has done lots of harm despite it great advantages in the society. This has exposed many children to wrong orientation and therefore corrupted their minds with so many destructive and unhealthy elements resulting to shaddy and unpurposeful and infocused lifestyles.
4. The value for research and the use of library has drastically reduced to the minimal due to modern technology involving the use of internet browsing phones for sourcing of unuseful materials and also getting involved in 419 and so many fraudulent activities.
POSITIVE IMPACT
1. In those days, some norms and beliefs in some parts of world strongly supports female circumcission which indeed is very wrong due to it negative effects on the female child, but modern civilization has forbid it by enacting laws against it.
2. Research has being made easy through the use of internet which saves a while lots of time and resources.
3. Women abuse and domestic violence against the women folks has drastically reduce due to law enforcement.
Having said all these, here call for the need to build a better society by all hands been on Dec and awaking and reigniting our lost past values for a more better society.
